My Story

Manchester 10k 

I am running the 10K race on May 18th in support of the OPA Cancer Charity because of the profound impact this organization has had on my family. In 2013, my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. While we were fortunate that he survived, the journey was incredibly difficult, both emotionally and physically. The OPA Cancer Charity provided invaluable support during that time, offering guidance, resources, and a sense of community that helped us navigate through the toughest moments. Running this race is my way of giving back to the charity that was there for us when we needed it most, and raising awareness to help others facing similar battles.

Our mission is to improve survival and quality of life for patients with Oesophageal and Gastric Cancer. We do this by increasing awareness and encouraging early diagnosis by providing advice and support throughout the journey. Together we can make a difference!

 

The AJ Bell Great Manchester Run is the biggest and best running event in the North West. Starting and finishing in the heart of the city, runners soak up the amazing Manchester spirit the whole way round & pass iconic landmarks on their journey to the finish line.

It’s not all about the adults, the AJ Bell Junior & Mini Great Manchester Run give the kids a chance to experience that finish line feeling, earn a special medal & raise money for good causes.
